Overview

Mindfulness for Academic Performance will help you unlock your mind’s potential to achieve better results in classes and tests:

  • Feel more calm and in control.

  • Get focused with more ease.

  • Gain confidence in your test-taking abilities.

  • Improve your scores.

  • Pass your tests.

If your mind can generate stress, anxiety, and distraction, it can also create calm, confidence, and control— if we teach it how. Mindfulness for Academic Performance will show you how to work with your brain and unique learning style, not against it.

I felt great during the test and I was composed. It went by very quickly and I used the techniques.
— Rebecca M.

Meta will teach you how to be present and to have control over your experience by identifying and working with your unique learning style. Sessions are customized specifically for you and are highly experiential — there is no ‘one-size-fits-all.’

This is not meditation— each session is about developing your ability to manage stress, stay present, and be in control of your experience. Sessions can include attention to your physical sensations, internal experience, and visualizations, for example.

The Mindfulness for Performance coaching program involves 6 to 10 x weekly hour-long sessions (Zoom) and short daily exercises (20 minutes or less) that build upon one another, allowing you to strengthen and deepen your practice until it becomes part of your natural competency in life.

Great news! I took the GRE and got my dream score! I could not have done it without you - so happy to have worked with you and learned about all the mindfulness/meditation techniques.
— Christina G.
Working with Meta with our Mindfulness sessions has been a wonderful experience. Meta is exceptionally patient, and insightful, and has guided me through so many difficult situations both, academically and personally, with kindness, and perspective.

In an academic setting, we have worked on my test taking skills, and learning strategies I can employ while actually in an exam, as well as preparation, and study techniques to help with memorization and information retention. With her guidance (and my hard work), I received the highest score in one of my law classes last semester, and have increased my GPA significantly. Public speaking has never been difficult for me, but those skills have only become stronger and more confident.

I am so grateful to have found Meta, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
— Isabel C.

How is Mindfulness for Academic Performance different from other modalities?

Everyone is structured for success. Mindfulness for Academic Performance teaches individuals how they are structured for success— if your mind can generate stress, anxiety, and distraction, it can also create calm, confidence, and control. Mindfulness teaches individuals to be present to body sensations and their experience, developing a stronger sense of self-awareness. As a result, clients are typically more empowered to choose new experiences, let negative ones go, and regain control over how they respond to the world around them versus being in reaction to stress and anxiety. Learn to transform the critter brain to have your full brain online for success.

Do I have to be spiritual in order to benefit from these sessions?

No. Each session is about developing presence. Presence can be with your physical sensations, internal experiences, and visualizations. Mindfulness for performance is developed with the philosophy we can shift our experience and have what we want without fighting ourselves.
